Horse Brass Medallions originated from the Romans and were used as amulets to ward off evil spirits. They were also symbols of wealth and status. During the reign of Queen Elizabeth 1st, horse medallions represented the production of various crops in a region. Today they are simply decorative and represent various groups, clubs, and corporations.

The claddagh is an Irish symbol representing three fundamental values in human relationships. The heart symbolizes love. The crown symbolizes loyalty and fidelity. The hands symbolizes friendship and human connection.

The design originated during the 17th century in a small fishing village of Claddagh in Galway, Ireland. While it began as a ring, the symbol is now widely used in other forms such as pendants.

The motto associated with this symbol is, “With these hands, I give you my heart and crown it with love.”

This is a one of a kind necklace made from vintage chains and attached with thick gauge brass wire. No one else will have this exact necklace.
