Chalcography is the art of engraving on copper or brass to create a print. It is then colored by hand on off white Arches paper.
This image is titled Vase of Flowers by Jacques Vauquer (1621-1686).
It was made by the Louvre art workshops as part of their Chalcography collection.
It has an embossed stamped on the bottom of the image that states, “ Musee du Louvre Chalcographie.” This stamp certifies the quality and authenticity of the print.
