Blatz Brewing Company was one of Milwaukee's industrial brewing giants. Operating from 1851 to 1959, its operations started by German immigrant, John Braun. He originally named the company, City Brewery. However, a former worker of City Brewery, Valentin Blatz, opened his own brewery right next door to City Brewery in 1848. He was doing great on his own until his former Boss, John Braun, passed away and he bought and merged the two breweries. Blatz went on to marry Braun's widow and continued to expand his operations. After recovering from a fire that damaged a large part of the brewery, Blatz began pushing out Milwaukee's first bottled beer. The company even survived during Prohibition years by selling candy, imitation beer, and sodas. Through the ups and downs of the company,  years passed and it ultimately came to an end due to competition and cost of production. They were bought out by Pabst Brewery in 1958. This amazing empire was paved by Blatz, who made a name for his Brewery with only $500. He was the first to bottle his beer in Milwaukee and the first to sell his beer nationally.

Would make a great gift for the man in your life. Perfect for a man cave, den, office, garage, or game room.
