Shell has been washed and coated in clear, semi-gloss shellac to enhance the texture and preserve the scutes.
This would look beautiful laying on a stack of books, sitting upright in a shelf, or hanging on a wall.
This is only the upper part of the turtle shell.
A wire has been added to allow it to hang on the wall but it can be removed if you choose to lay it down.
